Nice Uh!

What you have just read is the direct result of Text Messaging.  Don’t believe me, not a problem.  In todays world
we have developed a new form of language which can be found in the world of text messaging.  But is it good or
bad.  If you discuss this with the liberal left they chastise you for not allowing someone to express themselves, no
matter how badly presented it is.  If you discuss this with the right you might get the same story, with a different
twist “they’re just kids”.

As many of you know I have five children, two of which are in Junior High School.  However our Junior High
School is a home school charter known as an academy.  This academy has reduced class sizes and is designed to
promote a better form of learning than the overrated, overpaid, underperforming public school system.

But sadly enough the academy has its problems as well.  For example they do not teach by example and recently it
was noted that one teacher appears to find it imperative to have and answer her cell phone while class is in
secession.  The oxymoron to this is that the students are strictly not allowed to have their cell phones on, but for
the teacher it is ok to tell her husband she is teaching and will call back, or respond when another school calls her
for something else.

I too have a cell phone but when in meetings I either leave it in the car or turn it off, and I am on 24hour
emergency call.  I figured out it can take messages.

I could continue about teaching by example but that is for another article, and another day.  Right now I want to
get back on track regarding this literary mess at the top of the page.

First off the text message is from my daughter, sent to me exactly how she would text one of her friends; the
letter is from my son to a teacher requesting follow up concerning a missing assignment.

For the record my son is a slow reader and has slow grasp in spelling and reading.  All studies and test provided to
determine this issue indicates he will grow out of it, but in the meantime he has to work twice as hard to become
proficient in the language.  What my son does not understand is that I too was a slow reader and when tested in
the sixth grade I realized something was not right, but neither the school nor my parents ever discussed it.  With
that said I took it upon myself to read twice 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne.

Both my kids love to text message their friends, but for now that has gone away, his grades in English (Language
Arts for the politically correct) are failing as the result of confusion in spelling.  But before you lay blame on us
as parents, forget it we have been given guidelines to follow as part of the enhanced reading program designed to
help him obtain the correct grasp of the English language, and we follow it.

In a country where the president of our once great country twitters and text messages, computers determine how
your credit rating should be adjusted, and the police rely more and more on cameras to do their job, and
dishonesty or spinning of events seems to be the method of communication between humans it is quite apparent
that true personal communication is on the decline.

Years into the future one of these young text messaging kids will be president of this troubled country, a country
struggling with the numerous languages destined to be the national language of the U.S, and I am beginning to
wonder if that president will be texting a leader from another country declaring war or offer surrender, and how
that will look.

“dear leader of bad country, u didn’t give up lik I asked u.  so I am going tu blow u off th face of th planet
Your contry is very  beutyfulz but not fr long well luy u ttul.”

Interestingly enough today we had a birthday party for my son and we invited some of his friends over.  One
mother that decided to stay shared a very interesting story.  Her daughter, straight A's in english is now failing.
The reason, spelling and mom is convinced that Text Messaging is the route cause.

Something else was interesting about this, she brought it up to us, we said nothing beforehand.

If you have kids and they text message you might want to check out how they are doing in spelling these days.

On a different note:

It’s been a couple of weeks since my last posting and since then I have once again embarked on new adventure of
which seems to be getting a lot of attention.  For some my adventure has been coined as funny, crazy, and in one
case unbelievable.

But on the flip side the media attention has been incredible, with articles written worldwide, radio coverage, and
even an interview with KTLA 5 news out of Los Angeles, CA. aired at 10:00PM last Wednesday night.

The new adventure is “Lawn Painting”; yep you read right lawn painting.  I developed this idea last year and
presented it to a local community which really liked the idea, but sadly enough the mayor of that city declined to
run with the idea, so I shelved it.

Well last December the city of Perris CA contacted me asking if I provided lawn painting of which I said yes, and
with that I provided a sample of our work and was soon retained to begin my artistic endeavors in green.

At first everyone was a bit skeptical about the outcome, but soon after we began working through our first street
we noticed subtle changes in the way the neighborhood was behaving.  Pride appeared to be on the return.

Perris like many cities has been hard hit with the housing failures, leaving some streets with as many as 50% of
the houses foreclosed.  But the City of Perris was smart; they figured out a way to get these houses cleaned up
and recover the cost from the banks.  In truth I am amazed that other cities are not thinking along the same
lines, but I guess that would be work, of which the city of Perris is not afraid of.

The relationship has been great, and the results have been very positive for both parties.  Keep up the good work
Perris CA.

Now as for my lawn painting business I want you to go to my website at

think you will like it.

Good Day
