On the morning of December 7, 1941 devastation and destruction struck Hawaii and the United States as the result
of fierce bombing attacks from the Japanese armed forces. Their tactics were flawless and their success was
impressive.
But after a few of years of dealing with their endless attempts to concur the world we retaliated with a couple of
little guys known as “Little Boy” and “Fat Man”. On the morning of August 6th 1945 we dropped “Little Boy” on
the city of Hiroshima. Three days later we flattened Nagasaki with the “Fat Man”.
As a young boy in school, and back in the day when they taught about such events without trying to hide it or cut
out the pages of the history book, or even apologize to the Japanese kids in the class I sat there amazed at the
destruction that had occurred. Yes war was and is still ugly but back then it was a bit different.
But from this destruction evolved a strong bond between the Japanese culture and the big bad bully known as the
US of A. Soon it was common to see “Made in Japan” everywhere, from clothing and household appliances to the
cars we drive. Their culture grew and grew to the level of a strong and powerful society, only to be brought to its
knees once again, but this time by Mother Nature.
As this disaster has unfolded I have been glued to the internet both stunned at the raw power nature has shown us,
but amazed at the same time by the fragility of the human race.
As I monitored this event I began to wonder when our great leader was going to announce some sort of condolences
and comfort to the nation of Japan, and on March 11, 2011 my wonderment was fulfilled.
Now, I must admit I am not one to believe in this form of political rhetoric where leaders of the world get on their
soapbox and announce the great sorrow their people have for whatever country is suffering disaster or war, but in
this case I was somewhat taken back at the level of sincerity this president had for this nation in trouble.
As in all press conferences of this nature he began with the great sorrow and best wishes routine, then transitioned
into we will provide any aid requested from the American people, but then the great clincher came, he stopped dead
on that subject matter and began to discuss our oil price issues.
Of course as this Bozo is all about himself he was quick to point out that the little folk (He not included) are and will
continue to suffer this problem with elevated fuel prices, he continued to point out the great efforts he and his
wonderful administration have accomplished, or are working on to change the way we look at energy as a whole.
Was this guy for real?
This press conference went from “Gee whiz folks, it’s a bummer they got slammed,” to “but hell folks this press
conference is really about me and what I am doing.”
As you can guess I did what I always do when I hear or see either one of those clowns from the white house on TV,
or on the Radio.
“I TURNED IT OFF”
In 2012 I will be ready for REAL CHANGE. Will you?
