The Denial Factor Living Truth Through Denial
|
As many of my readers know I have devoted the last 15 years of my career servicing mostly school districts, while at
of my school district clients know of this and accept it graciously as many understand the immense pitfalls our state
government has created.
Now like many of us in this new world of “Change” I have been forced, like all of my school district clients to cut
back on the pleasures of life. The school districts on the other hand have been forced to cut back on many aspects
of staffing and management, as well as supplies for the curriculum. As part of these drastic cuts they have asked
and continue to ask me to conserve and assist where I can to help their district save money. Strange as this may
sound I am all for that, and willing support each as best as my company can.
As a reward I am still employed by many and with great respect for the staff of these school districts I say “Thank
You”.
Sounds good so far, but don’t count on it.
Recently my wife received a memo from our home school principal of which I will save her the embarrassment of
naming that condemned both parents and the students for not participating enough with a fund raiser selling Butter
Braids (Bread). In her memo she stated that out of 150 students only 37 actually was able to complete transactions
and bring in much needed funds for a financially troubled school.
If that was not enough she pointed out how the 37 kids who participated rocked, as she put it and proceeded to
announce the names of the top 4 students in sales. I guess we should say screw you to the other 34 as their sales
were well below quota. To this principal, during these economic times sales of $1,400.00 was very disappointing and
I am sure by the memo she felt her butter braids were more important than let’s say food for the whole family, a
utility bill paid, or even a tank of gas to get to work.
But wait readers it gets more amusing for you see not long after she slapped all those lazy halfwit parents and
students of which made no effort to better her cause she sent another memo asking for help to remodel their small
conference room. This time asking for carpet to be removed and new carpet installed.
Ok so now we have been hit with a double act of wants and needs another memo arrives this time pointing out to all
of the parents that the kids need to bring their own food and must make sure that it does not require microwaving,
pointing out that the staff is way too busy to assist the students.
But if you buy a “Cup O Noodles” from their student store, you can use the non-allowed to use microwave, and
suddenly the staff is no longer too busy and can help. On top of that she announced that the school was working on
purchasing a microwave to place into the hall, on a cart for the sole purpose of nuking “Cup O Noodle” only, and the
hell with the rest.
Now if you have a student that is in the 9th grade this principal has promoted the idea of having all of the parents
sign release forms, allowing the kids to go off campus to eat lunch elsewhere. I do not know of one intelligent
principal in any of my schools which would allow this, in a world loaded with sex offenders preying on the young.
Who knows maybe she supports those who believe that sex offenders need a fresh break too.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
She continued with other items of which I found uninteresting except a comment on making sure the kids brought
jackets as they would not be allowed in any rooms during lunch, unless by royal decree that it was too cold or raining
enough to warrant the need for kids to be in a room, and also pointing out fresh air is good for all and by
experiencing lunch outside you can improve on your social skills.
With all of this said I began to wonder if this person’s closet light was on and was aware of what is really happening
too many of the students and parents during this masterful plan of “Change”. Sadly enough I personally know of a
number of families in either dire straits close to losing or have lost their homes. Other families are struggling to
meet their bills and some are just plain afraid of the “Change” we are suffering, and what the future may bring.
Of course most of you that do know me understand I am not a proponent of Socialism, nor political correctness, and
in normal conditions would tell her to go where the sun does not shine, ignoring the memo completely. But in this
case I have watched this country fall into a state of global embarrassment both politically and economically while the
very citizens who pay for the salaries of everyone involved in the educational system bear greater burdens each and
every new day that we are alive.
So for a politician or a public servant to denounce the very tax payers of whom assist in their salaries by announcing
disgust over poor sales during a period of which America has not seen since the great depression is a bit out of line
and smells more like the making of a small fiefdom where the King and Queen have become miffed with the lower
class by failing to give that extra lamb or chicken to the bounty.
The Offer.
If her majesty so desires I will personally purchase a microwave and obtain a cart for the school and donate it.
Additionally I will provide manpower to remove the carpeting and seek the best deal for carpeting if she so desires.
The caveat will be that all of the students will be allowed to use the microwave for warm meals on those cold days of
which are not cold enough to warrant allowing the students access to a warm space, if they feel the need, or any day
for that matter.
The offer is one time and one time only and in the future as her lordship felt sales were not adequate I shall make
sure our participation will be minimized, of course without recourse to our children of which I feel a higher level of
learning is why we are really there in the first place.
If you elect to accept this offer I can be contacted via this web site.
Thank You.
